Jerry Weiss, Senior Pastor Jerry and his wife Phyllis have served doing church work worldwide, including the Philippines and Germany. They have been involved in church planting in former communist Germany and have many years of pastoral experience as well. One of Jerry's commitments in this church is to accurately preach and apply God's Word, the Bible, into contemporary culture. The couple's desire is to bring healing and hope to lives in the church context and to promote encouragement for many to participate in the life of the church. If you like the Bible, you will enjoy being ministered to through Biblical preaching. 
Steve Lewis, Youth Pastor Steve and Tamara Lewis serve as youth pastors of DeSoto Assembly. They are involved in the lives of young people both in the youth meetings at the church and socially as well. The name of the youth ministry is Reality. Our commitment is that teens will experience the real power of the real God through relationships. The youth can expect weekly Bible studies, the modern sounds of worship, monthly youth activities, Sunday school, and making new friendships. It is also our commitment to see that this generation develop a new hunger for the Bible and experience real life. 
Tom Benningfield, Administrative Assistant If you call the church office, chances are you will be greeted with the warm, friendly voice of this gentleman. He and his wife Wanda are real servants at DeSoto Assembly and really make you feel at home. Tom has been an ordained pastor for 36 years and has a real servant's heart. His duties include keeping the church books and taking care of details around the church that are too numerous to mention. He is not only a good administrative assistant, but someone you can easily talk with as well. One of his favorite hobbies is drinking good coffee, so when you visit the church, you'll probably find him near our coffee bar. Be sure and meet this guy and his wife. It's worth coming to church just to meet them and who knows, he might even buy you a cup of coffee! |
